A charming aroma of fresh red cherries and strawberries. The taste is elegant with small fine berries from the forest in fine balance. The tannins play nicely with the fresh fruit acid and give a wine with a soft aftertaste. The grapes for this wine come from Brauneberger and Trabacher vineyards. The soil here is slate, which adds a spicy element to the wine. The grapes are harvested late, in November, to have full ripeness. The grapes are stalked and fermented with their natural yeast for a good 3 weeks. The wine is stored in French oak barrels for 14 months before bottling without filtration.
