The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino by Castiglion del Bosco is born from the uniqueness of the Capanna vineyard , located northwest of Montalcino. The peculiar characteristics of this vineyard, such as its natural isolation, altitude and soil, characterized mainly by the presence of clayey schist, transfer refined elegance and great personality to this precious wine.
The 2019 vintage was characterized by a dry winter, with below-average rainfall, which was then largely recovered in the spring, in the month of May, which was cool and rainy. Compared to previous years, summer was in no hurry to arrive and when the heat of July began to peep out, the sun was felt, but without exaggeration. The rains returned at the end of August, followed by a cool and breezy September that gave the grapes all the time necessary for optimal ripening, with perfect healthy conditions. The harvest, carried out exclusively by hand, began on September 22nd and ended at the beginning of October.
“The 2019 Brunello is a great expression of a balanced vintage. The color is clear and lively to the eye. The intense nose plays on floral scents and aromatic herbs. In the mouth the tannin is balanced and well integrated, giving life to a pleasant wine with pleasant hints of freshness. On the finish a clean and harmonious aftertaste.”
